As royal enthusiasts, we love looking at throwback photos of the British royal family. And in the spirit of taking a (royal) trip down memory lane, we stumbled upon the striking pictures taken of Kate Middleton and Prince William on the day they announced their engagement to the world in November 2010.

In case you need a refresher: Clarence House confirmed William and Princess Catherine’s engagement on November 16, 2010. At the time, the royal residence shared in a statement that the couple, who met while attending St. Andrews University in 2001, would get married the following year.

Before they sat down for their first-ever joint interview as a newly engaged couple, Prince William and his soon-to-be wife posed for a series of photos in the State Apartments of St. James Palace.

The striking portrait below (taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson) shows the pair beaming at each other.

For the memorable occasion, Princess Catherine was rocking a dark blue wrap dress by Issa, which she paired with black pumps and minimal jewelry. Meanwhile, Prince William was wearing a navy blue suit with a blue/purple tie and black loafers.

As seen below, the Prince of Wales stands with his hands clasped while Catherine drapes her hand through his arm—a nearly identical pose to Princess Diana’s engagement picture with King Charles.

“Prince William is said to be concerned that the ring is missing,” she said.

“William is very protective over his late mother Princess Diana’s memory and her legacy.

“Her stunning and precious jewellery collection forms a very important part of that.

“From William’s perspective, he has memories of her wearing every single piece and would be concerned if a piece was missing.”

At the same time, she claimed that the Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry had similar emotions to his older brother owing to his closeness to his late mother.

Why Meghan Markle Hasn’t Been Wearing Engagement Ring From Harry

Meghan Markle was spotted without her engagement ring while attending the Invictus Games with Prince Harry — but there’s a perfectly good explanation.

Meghan, 42, was without the diamond because it’s currently being serviced after the setting came loose, a source tells Us Weekly. The Duchess of Sussex was first seen sans ring when she and Harry, 38, attended the Family & Friends party on Tuesday, September 12. The accessory was missing once again when the pair stepped out for the wheelchair basketball tournament the following day.

Harry designed the ring with Cleave & Company, who also served as the late Queen Elizabeth II’s regular jeweler. Harry told BBC during a post-engagement interview in November 2017 that he used a new rock from Africa — where he and Meghan spent time together early in their relationship — combined with diamonds that his mom, Princess Diana, once wore.

“The ring is yellow gold, because that’s [Meghan’s] favorite, and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds on either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this — on this crazy journey together,” he said.

‘Selfless’ Prince Harry gave Di’s engagement ring to William

Ring-a-bling-bling!

The late Princess Diana’s infamous 12-carat sapphire-and-diamond ring has been a treasured hunk of jewelry in the royal family for decades.

While Prince William, 41, gifted his now-wife Kate Middleton with the glistening rock when they became engaged back in 2010, Prince Harry reportedly also wanted the ring for his future spouse.

The Princess of Wales’ former butler Paul Burrell revealed in the Amazon Prime documentary “The Diana Story” that when she died in 1997, both of her young sons were allowed to pick out something from her sparkling collection to hold onto.

Burrell, 65, claimed that Harry, now 38, got her iconic navy blue engagement ring that she received from King (then Prince) Charles in 1981, while William, 41, desired her Cartier watch.

According to Burrell, the wristwatch was given to Diana on her 21st birthday by her father, John Spencer.

The “Entertaining With Style” author also noted that the Duke of Sussex once said, “I remember when I held mummy’s hand when I was a small boy and that ring always hurt me because it was so big.”

When it was time for the William to propose to Middleton 13 years ago, Harry had allowed his older brother to use their mother’s engagement circlet.

“Harry said to him [William]: ‘Wouldn’t it be fitting if she had mommy’s ring?’ ” Burrell said in the documentary.

“One day that ring will be sat on the throne of England. Harry gave up his precious treasure, his one thing he kept from his mother, he gave to his brother. That’s selfless, kind, and exactly who Diana was,” the

The Real Reason Why Meghan Markle Hasn’t Been Wearing Her Engagement Ring

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted without her three-stone diamond sparkler during a lunch date with friends last week.

On November 17, 2017, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their first debut as an engaged couple after the Duke of Sussex popped the question with a three-stone diamond engagement ring. Ever since then, the Duchess of Sussex has almost always worn the sparkler—no matter the occasion. However, on August 15, 2023, Markle was spotted without the valuable piece of jewelry on her left ring finger, which sparked rumors about the royal couple’s current marital status. Markle was enjoying a lunch date with two of her friends, Cleo Wade and Kadi Lee, celebrating a belated birthday lunch, which was most likely for the duchess, who turned 42 on August 4, 2023. A photo taken of the group shows that Markle’s diamond rock was absent, replaced by a gold band. A few days after the luncheon, on August 18, 2023, an insider revealed the real reason why Markle ditched her engagement ring, and it has nothing to her marriage to Harry. The source tells Page Six that the ring is simply “being fixed.”

Louella Anderson, cofounder of So Synced, markle-ditches-156k-engagement-30732618″ data-ylk=”slk:told;elm:context_link;itc:0″ class=”link “told The Mirror that there could be other reasons why Meghan decided to ditch her engagement ring. “Meghan Markle has always had her own unique sense of style,” she says. “It’s possible that her decision to change or remove the engagement ring reflects her evolving taste or desire for something different. She’s not over the top about her jewelry and usually chooses to keep her look quite simple and classic. Taking off the ring could be her way of expressing this personal preference for a less flashy look. Meghan’s engagement ring was particularly large and may

While anyone reading that bit of the book might shift around in their seat from the sheer awkwardness of it all, it did provide one key piece of information that shouldn’t be overlooked.

“My penis was oscillating between extremely sensitive and borderline traumatized,” he wrote in the memoir. “I’d been trying some home remedies, including one recommended by a friend. She’d urged me to apply Elizabeth Arden cream.”

Turns out, the Elizabeth Arden Cream Skin Protectant is the same one Princess Diana used to use on her chapped lips—and Prince Harry quickly recalls this very fact. “My mom used that on her lips,” he remembered. Before applying it, well, down there.

Princess Diana’s Butler Shoots Down Prince Harry’s Engagement Ring Claim

Princess Diana’s former royal butler has hit out at Prince Harry’s claim that, despite press reporting to the contrary, he did not give Prince William their mother’s engagement ring to propose to Kate Middleton with because “it wasn’t mine to give.”

Burrell, who worked for Diana from 1987 up until her death in a 1997 Paris car crash, told a U.K. newspaper on Tuesday that Harry did ask for the jewel because he was present when the brothers were asked to pick out pieces of jewelry at Kensington Palace in the aftermath of their mother’s death.

According to Burrell, Harry chose to keep Diana’s highly treasured engagement ring as a keepsake and William opted for her Cartier watch. This he repeated in interviews after the ring appeared on the finger of Kate Middleton in 2010, alleging that Harry must have given it to his brother.

Harry denied this account in his bombshell memoir Spare which hit the shelves in January, becoming the fastest-selling non-fiction book in history.

“The papers published florid stories about the moment I realized Willy and Kate were well matched, the moment I appreciated the depth of their love and thus decided to gift Willy the ring I’d inherited from Mummy, the legendary sapphire,” he wrote.

“A tender moment between brothers, a bonding moment for all three of us, and absolute rubbish,” he continued. “None of it ever happened. I never gave Willy that ring because it wasn’t mine to give. He already had it. He’d
