Striking Portraits of Kate Middleton & Prince William Standing Alone for Engagement Announcement Resurface

As royal enthusiasts, we love looking at throwback photos of the British royal family. And in the spirit of taking a (royal) trip down memory lane, we stumbled upon the striking pictures taken of Kate Middleton and Prince William on the day they announced their engagement to the world in November 2010.
In case you need a refresher: Clarence House confirmed William and Princess Catherine’s engagement on November 16, 2010. At the time, the royal residence shared in a statement that the couple, who met while attending St. Andrews University in 2001, would get married the following year.
Before they sat down for their first-ever joint interview as a newly engaged couple, Prince William and his soon-to-be wife posed for a series of photos in the State Apartments of St. James Palace.

For the memorable occasion, Princess Catherine was rocking a dark blue wrap dress by Issa, which she paired with black pumps and minimal jewelry. Meanwhile, Prince William was wearing a navy blue suit with a blue/purple tie and black loafers.
As seen below, the Prince of Wales stands with his hands clasped while Catherine drapes her hand through his arm—a nearly identical pose to Princess Diana’s engagement picture with King Charles.

Lastly, the bride-to-be offered a
