Scheana Shay’s Engagement Rings from Brock Davies, Mike Shay

Brock Davies proposed to Scheana Shay with a 12-carat pink morganite ring

In July of 2021, Brock popped the question with a massive 12-carat pink morganite engagement ring and Scheana, naturally, said “yes.”

The gorgeous engagement ring was crafted by the Vanderpump Rules cast’s go-to jeweler, Kyle Chan (whom you may recognize as Tom Sandoval’s friend Kyle from Season 11). 

On his feed at the time, Chan shared more details about the rectangular, cushion-cut ring. At 12.74 carats, the center stone is a rare pink morganite; the band is 14-karat white gold with diamonds.

“This gem also possesses a rare fancy pink reflect with insane fire,” Chan wrote. “Morganite is all about Divine Love. Pure and simple, it is representative of unconditional love.”

Teresa Giudice’s Engagement Ring May Be Worth $1 Million [PICS]

Teresa Giudice takes a shine to the finer things in life — and her jewelry collection is no exception. Among The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member’s most precious baubles is her engagement ring from her husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas. On October 19, 2021 Louie (who had been dating Teresa since July 2020) popped the question while the couple was on vacation in Greece. Louie got down on bended knee on the beach, where the romantic decor included scattered rose petals, candles, and a giant sign that said Marry Me. In his hands: a dazzling ring with a gigantic oval stone, as well as a thick silver band that was studded with diamonds. 

At the time, Page Six consulted an expert jeweler who guessed the ring’s center stone was approximately eight carats, and the entire ring could be worth up to $300,000, depending on the quality of the diamond. Another jeweler estimated the ring was 10 carats and worth up to $1 million. 

At their wedding, she added a diamond band to the set.

Why Kate Middleton Isn’t Wearing Her Wedding and Engagement Rings in Photo

After this story was published, multiple photo agencies recalled the above image citing an “editorial issue” and “post-publication review” as reasons. The Associated Press issued the most detailed description, saying that “at closer inspection, it appears that the source has manipulated the image. No replacement will be sent.”

Kate Middleton later issued a personal apology for editing the Mother’s Day photograph. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day,” the message read. It was signed “C” for Catherine, indicating that it was a personal message from the Princess.

“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day,” wrote the Princess. She signed the note with her initial, “C”.

In keeping with Kensington Palace’s original stance that they will not be providing health updates unless something significant changes, the message did not offer any additional details on Kate’s recovery or when she may make her next public appearance. Previously the Palace said, “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

More men are wearing engagement rings. The market is figuring it out.

A symbol long worn by women, engagement rings are becoming increasingly appealing to men.

Last April, on a secluded beach overlooking Toronto, I slipped an engagement ring on my girlfriend’s finger. Then she did something relatively unusual for a twenty-something North American couple: she put a ring on mine.

My engagement ring is a 2mm-wide circle of white gold to match my fiancée’s band. Going without one felt strange to me. For many people, a ring has traditionally been a sign a woman was “taken” by a man. But I think of our relationship as an equal partnership – the traditional approach didn’t quite fit.

Engagement rings for men are a common practice in several countries, including Chile, Sweden and Brazil, where the jewellery traditionally doubles as the wedding ring. But in much of the Western world, only women receive engagement rings. That’s changing.

For the past several years, in the absence of a men-focused engagement ring market, some men have traditional wedding bands instead, says Yagmur Telaferli, head of brand communications and content at New York-based jeweller Eternate. However, now, companies of all sizes are getting wise to the demand, introducing collections of engagement rings specifically for men.

Eternate launched its own line in January. Additionally, many major brands serving global markets – including Tiffany & Co and Brilliant Earth – have introduced men-centric designs, often with thicker bands and more discreetly placed diamonds than their feminine counterparts. Like rings for women, they can run into the thousands of dollars.

What is the history behind the ring finger?

According to ancient Roman lore, the fourth finger on the left hand harbored a special vein, Vena Amoris, or the “vein of love,” believed to connect straight to the heart. Placing your eternity band on this “ring” finger was seen as a symbolic union of two hearts. 

Modern science has debunked this theory (we now know there’s a vein in every finger leading to the heart), yet the sentiment lives on, keeping alive the romantic meaning of the ring finger. Western countries (like the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, etc.), and many Asian nations, adhere to the left ring finger tradition. But in other regions, including many Eastern European, SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa), and Latin American countries, the right ring finger is favored. Some LGBTQ+ couples have also opted for the right hand as a subtle rebellion against Western heterosexual norms.

Alba Baptista was shining bright on Saturday, November 25, as she showed off her sparkling wedding rings.

The actress, who married Chris Evans in September, wore her diamond engagement ring and wedding band to the GQ Portugal Man of the Year event in Lisbon on Saturday, November 25. She debuted her wedding bling in an Instagram post showing off her red carpet look.

Baptista, 26, rocked a black Miu Miu mini dress with patent leather slingback heels.
She topped off the look with white gold diamonds earrings and a diamond watch from Cartier. The borrowed jewels perfectly matched her large diamond ring and delicate wedding band.

She and the Captain America actor tied the knot in September, Us Weekly confirmed at the time, despite never announcing their engagement. Evans, 42, revealed the following month that they enjoyed two wedding ceremonies.

Meghan Markle has been leaving the house without one diamond-adorned accessory on her finger.

Most recently, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted next to her husband at the Invictus Games in a fashionable look that did not include the traditional engagement ring he gave her. When seen at the sixth edition of the multi-sport event for injured or sick servicemen and women, fans noticed Meghan’s ring finger only had her wedding band on it.

My ex-husband surprised me with a really extravagant engagement ring. We married less than a year into our engagement. Eight months later we separated, and after living on opposite coasts for two years with very little contact, we divorced. No hard feelings, but it didn’t end well, and we don’t keep in touch. Fast forward several years and my current boyfriend and I are talking about marriage but are not officially engaged yet. We’re both pretty practical, so I suggested reusing my old engagement ring and wedding band. I love the set and barely got to wear it. I also don’t have any strong emotions surrounding it. It’s just a beautiful set that has been sitting in a drawer collecting dust for years. My boyfriend initially liked the idea and seemed relieved since we have a million other things on which our money would be better spent.

The problem is that our friends and my family have declared that this is “creepy” and bad luck. My mom told my sister that she thinks my boyfriend is being a “cheapo” and that it’s tacky to reuse a diamond. I feel like this is an overreaction, but now my boyfriend is beginning to feel self-conscious about all the criticism, which is unfairly being lobbed at him considering this was my idea.
